Hunter's Menswear Store (Spec)

2.png

Client:
Hunter's Menswear is an imagined company.  It is a high end store with a clientele of men aged approximately between 25 and 50 with an income that allows for high end clothes purchases.

Challenge:

The challenge was to convey a sense of urgency for the Hunter's Autumn Knitwear Event while maintaining the language and style of a high end store.  It had to be made clear it was in store only and give the dates the event was taking place.  A button to find the customers' nearest store was also needed.

Solution:

I wanted this email to prompt the reader into thinking about the coming change of season and change of temperature and with that encouraging a change of wardrobe.  I used copy that is clear, concise and direct to create a sense of urgency and make sure the most pertinent information is front and centre and easily absorbed even while scanning the email.

Client:
Kensington Cat & Dog Home is an imagined UK based charity that rescue and re-home cats and dogs.

Challenge:

This welcome email is the first thing the reader receives after subscribing.  It had to maintain the tone from the website (see website portfolio) and make the reader feel that they made a good decision in subscribing.

Solution:

I wanted the reader to feel happy while reading this email and for it to serve as reassurance that subscribing to the Kensington Newsletter will be a positive thing in their life.

The wording in the heading was designed to make the reader feel included and like they are now part of a family.  I used animal themed phrases to conjure up images of happy animals to illustrate how pleased Kensington is that the reader has joined their mailing list.  I maintained the upbeat, playful tone from the website and pop-up for the majority of the email.  However I used a slightly more serious and sincere tone for thanking the reader for taking the time to join, ensuring the reader knows their support isn't taken lightly.  This email was intended as purely a thank you and therefore there were deliberately no requests for donations, volunteering or adopting an animal.
